The island of Santo Antão is divided in two different areas: the west side, deserted, rocky and almost uninhabited; and the northwest, where are located some of the most beautiful landscapes of West Africa. Deep canyons of more than thousand meters, valleys, forest areas, coniferous forests… besides long streams that unfold in the sea. Also, it is full of coffee plantations, sugarcane, bananas and papayas. It is the favourite destination for the trekking lovers because of the shapes of the island. It is also a perfect place to practise climbing and cycling.
