In the west of the beach of Santa Maria you can find the beach of Ponta Preta , known as the beach of the three dunes. It is a paradise for surfers, as it is almost always hit by the trade winds. The beach is wide and long with soft white sand and dunes that makes it even more stunning. The sea is turquoise and crystalline and it is a very popular place for the windsurfing and kitesurfing lovers, as it is the more suitable beach to play water sports because of the wind.
