Brava
The smallest inhabited island in the south of the archipelago. Also known as “island of flower” because its abundant vegetation due to humidity and the gardens of its capital, Nova Sintra. “Brava” in Portuguese means wild because its ports were considered a dangerous place by the sailors. It was not considered a safe place because of its narrow and deep valleys. And yet, Brava is a quiet island, perfect for take a walk and get to know its inhabitants and culture up close.
